Good Ways To Cook A Whole Chicken / Broiler

Stovetop:
Cover with water in a pan on the stove top, bring water to boil, turn down to medium and let cook for 2-3 hours(a good way to tell when it is fully cooked is when chicken starts falling apart). Pull chicken off bones.

Crockpot: Cover chicken with water. Let cook for 6-8 hours on high or 10-12 hours on low. Drain. Use liquid for chicken broth and pull chicken off bones for recipe.

Oven: Pre-heat oven to 350. Place defrosted chicken (breast down) in glass pan, covered. Season if desired. Bake until chicken leg can twist easily. It generally takes around 2 hours. Use for whole broiler or put meat off bones for recipe.

Make Broth:
Use liquid for chicken broth  - you can put bones/skins back into liquid and continue to cook on low for 6-12 hours.
