Jordan Green first tasted farming at an early age. Born in upstate New York he spent his childhood on a 1000 acre private lake preserve and developed a love for the outdoors and animals. Working in his family's gardens and raising egg laying chickens were every summer activities. As a teenager on his parents Virginia homestead he managed a herd of dairy goats, raised pastured poultry, helped out with his mother's large gardens as well as worked in his father's landscaping business.

He attended Joel Salatin's Polyface Farm as an apprentice from September 2001 through November 2002.

From 2002 through 2004 he coached several farms on the east coast in the process of starting their own sustainable farms. (A little note: You can now follow Jordan Green - Farm Builder on FB)

From August 2004 through August 2009 he served his Country in the United States Marine Corps with multiple deployments around the world.

Upon leaving active military service in 2009, Jordan and his wife Laura, started their own farm in Edinburg, VA. They currently manage multiple farms in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia and raise grass-fed Beef & Lamb, pastured chicken eggs and duck eggs, pastured broilers and Forest Raised Pork. Together with their three children, Justin, Allie and Wyatt, they work to bring healing to declining farm land, steward the resources of their farms and advance the cause of sustainable farming.
Laura Green is a native of central Texas and grew up on her parents small farm were they also had a honey distribution business. She and Jordan met in November of 2002 at the wedding of her sister, Sheri, to Daniel Salatin. She and Jordan began a friendship and were engaged on Christmas Day 2004 and married in June 2005. As a military wife she worked in  restaurant service and banking as well as managing their home as a vacation rental while Jordan was deployed.

As a partner in J & L Green Farm she manages all aspects of the farm buying clubs, farmers markets and wholesales in addition to keeping up with 3 active children.
